Activity 3.2.1 – Natural Resources Review (Concept Map)

Concept map for natural resources(Visual Learning Systems, 2018)

Summary of Understanding

When you look at the concept map about natural resources, it is clear that they are the foundation of almost everything we have and everything we do. We have renewable resources like the water we drink, to the air we breathe, the soil that grows our food, and to the forest that gives us wood for our homes and oxygen for us to breathe. And then we have our nonrenewable resources like oil, coal and minerals that power homes and cities. Renewable energies are something that can come back and be created and nonrenewable resources are very limited and there is a very limited amount and it takes around millions of years for them to form but those being so different in time creation, we have woven them into our daily lives shaping how we eat and how we live. The biggest issue that is not something many people think about is that neither renewable nor nonrenewable resources are endless. Overusing fossil fuels  creates pollution that drives climate change. With climate change it would affect food and water supplies. That’s why the connections on the map matter so much. Conservation about recycling, and sustainable practices aren’t just good ideas for now problems but they are necessary if we want to keep these resources available for ourselves and for future generations to come.(Visual Learning Systems, 2018)
